A hike up to Cathedral Rock in Sedona

Our friends, Steve and Autumn Munkirs are visiting us for the weekend from Houston. Yesterday we hosted them for the day in Flagstaff. Today Derek and I drove down to Sedona where they are staying and we took in the sites. After a wonderful lunch of burgers and fries at Dellepiane Sedona (total yum!), we went and hiked up to Cathedral Rock. The hike ascends almost 700 feet to breathtaking views of Sedona’s red rock formations!

It’s difficult to appreciate from the pictures just how steep the ascent (and the return descent) was!

Views from the top!

Definitely not for the faint of heart!

  1. It is amazing how different the terrain is less than an hour from Flagstaff!
