New Modes of Transportation

For those who are waiting for an update to our Saturday adventures, we ended up eating at the CiCi's pizza in Owasso (just north of Tulsa) and hitting Kohls to buy the kids new shoes as well as winter coats.  New philosophy- buy the coats when we see them!  Funny thing is that the kid's shoes were foreshadowing to Sunday's events.  to be continued shortly...
Saturday night we all watched The Empire Strikes Back together with popcorn! 

Sunday we spent the day with the usual chores- laundry, straightening up the house, grocery shopping, etc.  We grilled burgers for lunch and I made a giant salad which was enjoyed by all! (believe it or not!).  Then Derek and I surprised Zach with a new bicycle!  He is too big for his current bike and it was painful watching him try to learn to ride on it.  He is slowly learning to balance and hopefully will take off on his new wheels soon.  Meanwhile, ash has inherited Zach's old bike, and with the help of training wheels, is already zooming around like a pro.  It is great to see them enjoying being outside and the physical activity.  We are sure looking forward to the day we can all enjoy a bike ride together on the trails!!!

Interestingly, the boys' new shoes each ended up matching their new bicycles - Ash with orange and blue shoes, and Zach with orange and black shoes.  Go figure....

 

Zach also discovered that it is loads of fun riding his old dump truck down the small slope in our backyard.  I remember doing silly stuff like that as a kid.  Too fun!
