Scientifically proven: Star Wars is good for your health!

Today we woke up early (actually the kids woke up at their normal weekend 6:15am to watch SpongeBob Squarepants, Derek and I rolled out of bed about 7am) and went on an adventure to the Houston Health and Medical Science Museum.  Along with their normal exhibits where you can learn all about the human body, they were hosting a traveling Science of Star Wars exhibit.  (Wasn't really sure how this exhibit related to health and medicine...but they actually did have displays on living in the desert, living in extreme cold, and advancement for prosthetic limbs --- hence the line "He is more machine now than man...").  All of the exhibits were very well done and kid firendly.  Everyone had a great time learning to build a landspeeded with maglev technology, building robots, enjoying a 4D movie about "Planet You" (actually this freaked Zach out a bit as it zoomed in to show all of the different creatures that live on your skin- but now he is a big proponent of washing hands before eating and taking baths- ha!), and having the chance to sit on giant teeth.  Enjoy the pics!

Zach is so excited to see Darth Vader, he can't hold still.

Make your own land speeder with lego magnets!
 Ashton- future robot engineer.

 Look who is cheesin' now!
A 4D movie experience (glasses, wind, water, oh my).  The most fun was playing around with the polarized glasses before the movie started (yes- Derek and I are nerds...)

 The "Scream Booth"

We spent about 3 hours at the museum, then feasted on Chuy's for lunch.  Now it is rest time at home and a bit of work for me before heading to the pool to cool off around 4pm.  What a fun day!
