Happy Thanksgiving 2024!

Thanks to Grandma Dixie for hosting Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday! Delicious turkey with all of the fixings! I made the dressing (Zach calls it siding, because it is "on the side"!).  Derek made Aunt Lillian's famous green beans.

Derek shares on of his birthday bottles of wine given to him by Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy.  We all had fun posing with the giant bottle of Pinot Blanc from Bethel Heights vineyards in Oregon (and the wine was dry, crisp, and delicious)!

The annual "Derek loves whipped cream" photo!

Post-meal Mexican Train
Friday, Ely and I hosting two special fitness classes at the gym themed "Torch the Turkey".  We raffled off two of Mom's knitted scarves to participants after each class.  So much fun!!!! (If you zoom in on our shirts, they show a turkey leg and say "It's leg day!"

Cutie Curie!
Thanksgiving round two happened on Saturday afternoon after going to view the movie "Wicked".  The movie was fantastic!!!! We loved the musical and the movie takes the visuals to the next level.  WE can't wait for the sequel/part 2 next Thanksgiving!

Derek shares his second giant bottle of birthday wine, a Pinot Rose!  Ashton pours sparkling cider for him and Zach.
Grandma Dixie with "her guys"!
Saturday was officially Grandma Dixie's 75th birthday.  It was a great excuse for another celebration!

As it is December 1st, I gifted Mom and Dad an advent calendar.  Each day in December they get to open an ornament crocheted by me and hang it on a little Christmas tree.  Mom opened the first ornament today, a little cardinal.  A sleigh with Peppi the candy cane, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Frosty the Snowman also arrived for the December fun!

December 1st Ornament: a Cardinal: (I actually crocheted this one back in October while Mom was in the hospital for her valve replacement procedure).

Much of today was spent outdoors doing yard work (raking over 10 bags of leaves and pine needles, trimming tree limbs, etc).  Ashton helped me put up our snow family!
Cute picture with Curie peeking out of the window!
Curie loves her Dad!

Also fun holiday-themed leggings are starting to make their appearance in my classes! Yippee!!
Santa diving into a hot chocolate and a latte with antlers just makes me smile!

  1. I love everything about this post. I’m reading it while on a break from substitute teaching and by the end of it I was giggling out loud to myself in an empty classroom, hahahaha. That picture of Ash with the decorations and Curie in the background is adorable and your holiday leggings are my favorite. Santa in the latte made me snort giggle. The food and family time looks fantastic, as always. Big hugs to each of you and happy birthday to Derek and Dixie :)
