Labor Day Festivities!

Today we had a nice cookout with Grandma Dixie and Grandpa Cliff. The weather was warm and nice. After eating Grandpa’s grilled brats and Grandma’s yummy side (including deviled eggs!!!), we played a game of cornhole. We then had turtle cake (yum) and then tried two new board games. The first was Uno Flip which is played like traditional Uno, but when one plays the special “flip” card the deck gets turned over to the dark side with different colors and stiffer penalty cards (like a Draw 5!!!!). Anyway it was fun and will get more so as we get used to playing it. We then played Telestrations which is basically a cross between the games of telephone and Pictionary. You have a dry erase booklet in which you draw a picture of the item on the game card which you have been given. You then pass the booklet to the person left who then writes down his or her guess as to what you have drawn. The book is then again passed to the left where the next person draws the word that has been guessed and so on until the booklet goes all the way around and reaches its original owner. Hence, the original word “calculator” can turn into “s’mores”. It was lots of fun and made us laugh!
