Update on Ashton

I took Ash to the doctor's office this morning. Lucky Ash had the pleasure of getting neck X-rays to pinpoint where the swelling was in his throat. Turns out Ash has viral croup a disease normally seen in younger children and less frequent in kids Ash's age with the concern that there may be other complications or underlying cause. So the X-rays were to confirm the location of infection and swelling and make sure it was not located somewhere more serious. The X-rays showed that everything was normal except for swelling around his trachea (vocal chords) which is classic sign of croup (or laringitis in adults). So, there not much you can do for a virus but let it run its course. However, he has a short round of steroid pills to help reduce the  throat swelling. He will stay home with Grandpa and Grandma tomorrow per recommendation of the Doctor to rest his vocal chords and make sure he is fever free. It is weird to have normally chatty Ashton be whisper quiet! He should be fine this weekend!

Here is a pic of Ash getting his X-ray.
And being silly with slinkies while waiting for the doctor.
