So the boys have had a good start to the school year. Zach really likes his teacher, Mrs. Baugh. She runs a very structured classroom, which is a good environment for him. They have been reading
Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing together in small group, and she had been reading the entire class
The One and Only Ivan to work on listening skills. Zach designed and built a race car in his GATE science class this week. The class will competitively race them on ramps thus week to see whose car is the fastest. Zach has nightly math facts and worksheet as well as reading homework (20 minutes reading of a chapter book and then write a short 3sentence paragraph about what he read). He will have book reports later this year. His teacher does not believe in homework on weekends. Yay!
Oh yes, 4th grade is also back to weekly spelling words. We know you have missed them. So here goes:
about, another, because, friends, our, until, was, again, are, excited, have, probably, usually, where, always, beautiful, favorite, myself, school, want
Ash has also been enjoying Mrs. Lipscomb's Kindergarten class. Fortunately no homework for him during the week. However he does have homework on the weekends. Actually, he has a week to complete it do we can do it during the week. But it us much easier to find quiet time to work on it with him on the weekend. Here is a flavor if what he is working on.
Derek has also been busy with outdoor projects, specifically whacking dead bushes.
We had a fun "date" last night once the kids were in bed playing a game if
The Walking Dead Risk. We actually managed to work together to wipe the zombies out! Yay us!
Great to see GREAT Works from the Grands___!
ReplyDeleteDerek, nice back swing!
