We Millers are now safely home after a fabulous long weekend visiting with Grandma Peggy, Grandpa Randy, Uncle Greg, Aunt Jenny, and Cousin Wynter! Here are some more highlights from our trip.
Video games with Uncle Greg!
Children's Museum: yes that is Derek snoozing on the top bunk!
Wyn just took down Big Bird---future wrestler in the making!
Chromatography time!!! (not sure the young room attendant knew what to think when invaded by a bunch of scientists and their offspring!!!)
Basically you draw a ring on filter paper with black ink. Then you place the paper such that it wicks water or vinegar and you can watch the different ink colors separate from one another due to the polarity of the molecules. Turns out black has many different colors in it. Way cool!
Making African tribal masks!
Zachary and his soccer ball pin.
An outing to the park!
Grandpa and Grandma's apartment building in Arlington, VA.
An outdoor concert in the woods at Wolf Trap Park---listening to children's folk tunes by Dan Zanes. Really fun!
Yes- Dan Zanes is wearing an orange suite. He played the guitar, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica, and jaw harp. the concdert was very interactive with lots of audience singing and dancing!
After the concert, we went out for pizza! Fantastic stuff!!!
Story time with Aunt Jenny!
So when you get all of us together, it is impossible not to have one of us make a funny face or do something incredibly silly in a picture. So I had to share all three. This is all of us (minus Wyn who was sleeping) after finishing a puzzle together!
More pictures to be added as I pilfer them from others :)
After arriving home, we had a busy evening doing laundry, picking up Snickers from the kennel, going to the grocery store, and visiting the elementary school open house to meet teachers as both boys start school tomorrow. Zach found out he has Mrs. Graham for 3rd grade. Stay tuned for "back to school" pictures!!!
Looks like you had a fantastic time! Thanks for sharing.
