Celebrating Spring!

Sorry for the long overdue blog post.  We have been busy enjoying Grandparent visits, soccer practices and games, enjoying the warmer spring weather (most days anyway), and going to work (not) and doing taxes (double not)!  Here are brief highlights of our past two weekends (vacation to New Mexico seems soooooo long ago...sigh....).

We had lots of fun with Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy who arrived for a long weekend over Easter.  We played outside a lot and of course ate lots of yummy food!

Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy were able to attend Zach's soccer practice last Friday night.  However, his Saturday game was rained out!  Practice was fun however.  Even Derek and I got to play for 20 minutes during the "kids vs. adults" scrimmage!  Wow- nothing like 8 adults vs. 30 kids!!!! I am so outta shape, but amazing how those soccer instincts come right back!
Shooting some pool while waiting for a table at Frank and Lolas!

Flying remote-controlled helicopters!!!  Wow, what a fun gift!

Enjoying the annual Easter Egg hunt!  Thanks Grandpa Randy for helping me hide the eggs around the backyard!

Easter dinner- corned beef in the rotisserie, roast potatoes, and a large salad.  yum!!!  (Went to Brahms for ice cream later in the day too.  yay!)

This weekend, we have been outside a lot again.  Friday night we went to Bruin soccer night at the high school.  All Bartlesville soccer club members got in free (see Zach in his uniform below) to watch both the girl's and boy's high school teams play Choctaw High School.  We stayed for most of the girls game (Bartlesville was winning when we left- yay) and we headed out for Chinese food.
Saturday at noon, Zach had high latest soccer game.  Unfortunately, his team lost. but they still had fun!

We spent most of the afternoon enjoying the outdoors. That night we went out for Mexican for dinner, then went for a nice long walk around the duck pond and arboretum.  such great weather!!!!

Zach posing in front of his school which is in the same area as the duck pond.
Go Zach!  Go Ash!  Run your legs off and poop yourselves out!!!!!

Derek and I had a nice time sitting out on the deck with a glass of wine after getting the kids into bed.

This Sunday has been spent doing laundry and taxes (boo hiss!).  however, we did take a nice break midday to grill burgers outside.  Since this afternoon, the temperature has been dropping steadily with the threat of rain.  Derek put out grass seed in our backyard so hopefully we will get some.

Anyway, looking forward to another really busy work week!!!  Not!  It is not fair that the weekends just fly right by!

  1. Thanks for the pictures! Looks like the weather has been truly fantastic. It's fun to recognize the pond area where we take our walks/runs. Good luck getting through the week!
