Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory...

Had a great time today visiting the Capitol grounds and picnic at East Potomac Park. We learned that the statue on top of the Capitol building dome is Freedom, a female figure wearing a military helmet and holding a sheathed sword in her right hand and a laurel wreath and shield in her left.
