Air and Space

Yesterday we took a trip out to the Air and Space museum at Dulles Airport. basically it is a huge hangar filled with all sorts of planes and jets. Our favorites were the SR 71 Blackbird (fastest jet ever built, all black for spying from high altitude), the " shark plane" - a biplane with eyes and teeth drawn on it, and of course the space shuttle. Upon retirement, the space shuttle Discovery is on display. Wow, so awesome to see it up close. Both Zach and Ash were in complete awe. We also saw a concord jet and the Enola Gay. So cool to see history up close.

This morning, Derek and I will be stopping by the bakery and coffee shop to pick up breakfast treats. Grandpa has to give a talk for a conference ( he will be giving it over Skype!).  So we will relax and maybe take the kids to the park. This afternoon we will head out to see more monuments and sights.

I can't figure out why these are rotated funny. I will fix it soon.

  1. Jenny, it is the same pose of our family when we visited for your wedding, except at that time our family was only 3 and Zach was wearing orange.
