We had a great time at the Rodeo this afternoon. We had BBQ for lunch and then enjoyed a bit of the sheepdog herding competition. We then saw all sorts of cows, pigs, chickens, and rabbits in their stalls. Ash LOVED the cows. We finished our time by viewing part of the Ranch Rodeo watching cowboys rope and brand (with chalk) calves and herd cattle. Basically, this was a show that demonstrated real ranch skills as opposed to the big rodeo going on this evening with bucking broncos, rodeo clowns and all sorts of broken bones. We will save that for next year- ha! The kids melted down before the Wild Cow milking competition started. I'm a bit disappointed - that was one thing I would have loved to witness! We stopped by Dairy Queen for a treat on the way home! All in all a great day. I think all of us will sleep like rocks tonight!

Typical Texas Fried Fare - still have yet to get up enough courage to eat a fried twinkie or fried snickers bar! It would have completely negated my morning run anyway.

Great-grandpa Paul will be so pleased to hear that Ashton liked the cows.
