House Hunting Day 1

We started off our day by taking part of the local Houston culture and breakfasting on Kolaches along with Starbucks.  Kolaches are pastries that are filled with either sweet items (open face) such as fruit, nuts, or cream cheese, or meat (closed) such as ham and sausage.  Derek chose one filled with ham and another with cream cheese while I picked one with a Texas hot link (sausage with cheese and jalapeno) and another with walnuts and brown sugar.  Very tasty- but not something you want to eat every day unless you want clogged arteries!

We then met the realtor at 10am and started our hunt for a house.  We saw ~15 houses and have narrowed it to 3 that we really like.  Our top choice is only a block away from Zach's new elementary school and Ash's daycare.  It has a great backyard and a family room with absolutely fabulous windows.  We are going to see a few more tomorrow and try to make our choice and extend an offer.

This evening, we met Tracy Hammon for dinner.  She is down in Houston on business and is staying at the same hotel.  It was fun showing her the neighborhood and houses we are interested in.

Oh yes, and here is a picture of a palm tree for Zachary!!!!
Apparently Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy are having a good time with Ash and Zach.  They even took the kids to swimming lessons tonight.  Oh Mom and Dad, you will be happy to know that there is a "Five Guys" restaurant near our potential new neighborhood!
