New Family Member and Other Items

Well, the Miller Family gained a new member this evening, a very small orange and white goldfish. His name (according to Zach) is "Orange Fish", and he was a prize from a fishing game at Zach's school Fall Carnival. He now lives in a bowl in the center of our dining room table (Derek said we should name him "Dinner" or "Snack"). The carnival is a fundraising event for the school. So our $10 game wristband won us a goldfish, a can of soda, 2 pieces of candy, and a ride on the bouncy tent. We also came home with a $5 pizza which we could correctly call "Dinner". We also ordered Zach a long sleeve school hoodie T-shirt (the kids all wear their shirts on Mondays to show school pride). So, I can't say this was the cheapest entertainment ever, but the money goes to a good cause. I also went to parent/teacher conferences at Zach's school earlier in the day. Zach got a great report. His behavior in school is much improved. He is listening well and participating in all activities without any major outbursts in over a month. He has demonstrated mastery of all of the reading and math skills that they have been working on, ahead of the class especially in the areas of math and pattern recognition. They suggest that we get ahead of the game and start working with him on rhyming. So I foresee more Dr. Seuss in the future! Ash had his 9 month appointment this past Monday. He is 19 pounds 1 ounce and is almost 30 inches long. The doctor is pleased with his growth and development. The little guy didn't even cry when he received his flu shot! We really did enjoy our visit with Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy. I have attached a few more pictures highlighting their visit.
Derek and I took advantage of their visit to go on a date to Tulsa on Tuesday evening to see "Star Wars In Concert". http://www.starwarsinconcert.com/ It was fantastic. There is nothing better that Star Wars movie clips on a giant screen, a live orchestra and choir to play music by John Williams, and Anthony Daniels (aka C3PO) to MC and narrate the event. Anyway, thanks again to Grandpa and Grandma for all of their help and lots of fun!
