More Pics from Saturday
Here are some more pics (courtesy of Rosa) from our visit last Saturday with the Lewis Family. We did have a great time. Zach keeps looking for their car and asking when they will be coming back.
The fox made another appearance yesterday morning. Zach likes to go outside to look and see if he is on the neighbor's roof every morning before he and Derek wave "bye" to Ash and I as we set out to work/daycare. Zach was busy last night finding squares for his school homework. He cut out a big square-shaped present. He also made a birthday card for his teacher which included pictures of a galaxy and Saturn with rings along with the more traditional cake and balloons. His drawing and cutting skills are improving a lot.
Ash is suffering through more teething. His two front top center teeth have cut through, but the next two in line are now budding. You can just tell he is not comfortable-wants to be held all of the time. At least Tylenol is helping him (and me) sleep at night. We think Ash had an allergic reaction to eating spinach. That was his new food for the week and he broke out in a mild rash on his torso. It has started to clear since we removed it from his diet. (Not much worry since we do not eat spinach that often in our house anyway.)
Derek has been doing OK with his second round of chemo. He did well Monday and Tuesday, but was much more fatigued yesterday (and likely today) which seems to be the pattern. He is much more touch sensitive to cold- needing oven mits to remove items from the freezer. His IV arm is also very sensitive to any type of contact (e.g. cloth feels like sandpaper). These symptoms will likely fade into the weekend.
Not much is new with me. Work has been busy. We had our annual United Way fundraising drive kick-off on Tuesday. I won an umbrella as a door prize. I have been keeping up with running and started yoga again in the evenings. We finished Season 1 of Breaking Bad last night. We still have yet to receive the last Sopranos disk from Netflix (ugh!). The next show we are going to watch is Season 1 of HBO's True Blood.
