Breaks, Beasts, Breasts, and Bands!

Just a few pictures of Zach with Curie early this week before we took him back down to ASU on Tuesday afternoon.  Curie received her new bark box treats for October and LOVES them!  It was really nice having a long weekend together for October Break.  We miss Zach already and can't wait to have him back home for a visit over Thanksgiving Break!

On an additional Curie note: We put out peanuts for the Stellar Jays.  The jays were either eating the peanuts or hiding/burying them around our yard.  Curie proceeded to take their lead and started burying the peanuts that they dropped OR digging up and reburying the peanuts buried by the jays.  We thought this was funny and joked that she was burying bait for squirrels.  Well, lo and behold, while we were eating dinner she caught a squirrel.  Wow!  Derek chucked it into the woods.  Poor critter was selected out.  Ashton has been calling Curie "Murder Beast" ever since.  We told Zach and he says that Curie is "creator of gamey taco meat".  Ha! We are a bit grossed out and extremely proud dog parents all at the same time.

Ely and I hosted special fitness classes on Friday in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  They were very well attended.

Yesterday evening Ashton and the Flagstaff High School Eagle Pride Marching Band competed in the annual NAU Band Day competition.  The FHS Band performance was outstanding!!!  I think it is the best we have seen the band perform during Ashton's high school career.  They both sounded and looked fantastic and even got the audience clapping and participating during their routine.  We are so very proud of Ashton and the band.  And of course we loved watch Ash do his thing!!!!

Ashton making his way from the back of the field to the front in between numbers!  He can run FAST!!!!

Ashton received his official driver's license in the mail as well.  yay!!!
