The replacement parts for Ashton's 3D printer were delivered yesterday. Derek, Ashton, and I were elbow deep in electronics installing the new motherboard components. It was fun getting back to my instrumentation roots from grad school. It was also fun helping Ashton develop new engineering problem-solving skills. Installation of the new board worked and Ashton's printer is now fully functional. He has been having a blast printing his first creations- in this case the parts to a Japanese anime character figurine.

We also attended Ashton's spring band concert on Thursday evening as well as the district-wide band showcase concert this afternoon. Great music!

Grandma Dixie, the guys, and I all hiked out to a dark clearing in the woods behind our houses to try and see the Aurora Borealis last night from the recent coronal ejection. We thought that maybe we were seeing home faint reddish-pink hues. It was hard to tell. A few friends were able to get some photos with their phones from other Flagstaff regions. Regardless of success, it was a fun family evening adventure. We will try again this evening when the storm is supposed to peak.
