Exploring Rockin' River Ranch State Park

This morning Ashton, Derek, and I woke up at 7am (early for us on a weekend), had nice nice chorizo omelet breakfast, and headed south at 8am to visit Rockin' River Ranch State Park near Camp Verde, AZ (about an hour drive).  Rockin' River Ranch is Arizona's newest state park which just opened to the general public at the beginning of February.  What made this trip even more special is that Curie went hiking with us!  Generally she has been very scared and nervous riding in the car.  We want to give her fun experiences and destinations to help her get over her anxiety.  The car ride down was very stressful for her.  However, she LOVED our four mile hike with all of the fun new sights and smells.  She was much calmer during the ride home.  

The park is small but very nice with flat trails through valley prairie and by the river.  There are lots of great spots for picnicking and fishing in warmer weather. 

We took turns walking Curie as she is very strong and likes to "walk" us!

After our wonderful morning outside in nature we drove back to Flag.  Derek fired up the grill and we made "flips"- basically Mexican hamburgers- with green chile.  Yum!

We my BodyBalance training is officially a "GO"!  I received all of my training materials on Friday and have started reviewing poses and choreography for my training class coming up mid-March.  I spent an hour after dinner going through the master class for my training.  The music and stretches are amazing!  Now time to relax with some tea and a book while snuggled in a blanket! Derek and Ashton are playing some new Spatoon video game.  Cure is snoring!
