Happy 2024!

I am finally getting around to my first blog post of the year.  So here goes!

First of all Derek and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on January 2nd. Our main accomplishment that day was completing a puzzle.  Ha!  We had a nice family dinner on Friday January 5th where family gave us a nice toast.  We will have a special date to celebrate ourselves sometime soon.

Family photos from dinner at 1899!
Zach and Grandma pose with Grandma's cookies at 1899 restaurant.  It was his last night in Flagstaff before heading back to campus, so we toasted him to a wonderful spring semester!

Snowy memories from 25 years ago!
The puzzle that Derek and I completed on our anniversary.  Beautiful puzzle and one of my favorites places on Earth.  Thanks Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy for the gift!
Scenes from New Year's Eve.  We had pizza and played games with Grandpa Randy and Grandma Peggy.  Curie was there too for lots of attention.  Grandma Dixie was partying downtown at the annual Flagstaff Pinecone Drop!
After partying, we went home before midnight.  Ashton and I made it to midnight.  Derek and Curie were passed out!!!!
Curie opened her eyes and "tapped" Derek on the back when he started to snore.  Moments later they were BOTH snoring!
First workout of the year on New Year's Day.  My class was packed!
Zach and I both had eye checkups last week.  Here he is in his groovy shades after eye dilation.  Progressive glasses are in my future. Stay tuned!
Derek and I drove Zach back down to ASU yesterday morning, which was a good choice since today we have been experiencing the first major winter storm of the season.  We treated Zach to Thai food before helping him get settled back into his dorm and going to the bookstore to pick up his textbooks for his second semester.  Zach starts classes on Monday.  Ashton is already back at school, going back this past Thursday.

We miss him already!!! Especially since we miss his extra muscle for shoveling snow!!!
Speaking of snow, we have gotten 6-8 inches so far and it is still coming down!  Curie LOVES it!! She loves "hiding" under the trees!

Another round of snow is expected this coming Thursday.  Yippee!!! (ugh!)
