Zion Day 2, Part 3: Driving up Kolob Canyon Terrace

So our hiking plans for tomorrow have been fouled. We were planning on exploring the Kolob Canyon section of the park, which is west and at higher elevation and not nearly as crowded. However, the Kolob Canyon Terrace section has not yet been fully plowed with feet of snow. So hiking trails are only accessible for those with snowshoes or skis. The upper Kolob Canyon drive has been completely blocked by a massive rock slide and is currently closed to visitors. So, we have come up with a different plan for hiking for tomorrow. We decided to drive up Kolob Canyon Terrace as far as was plowed to see the sights. We were not disappointed!

Snow with outstanding views!!!

Mandatory turn-around where plowing ends!

View of snow-covered peaks toward Washington, UT (where our Air B&B condo is located) getting slammed with more rain and snow.

We will definitely plan a trip back to visit the Kolob Terrace and Canyon areas when the weather is warmer!!! Beautiful country!

After all that hiking and scenic driving, we were ready to enjoy burgers grilled by Derek. Total yum! I made cocktails again. This one is of my own making with freshly-squeezed lime juice, tequila, and Sunkist Soda as the cilantro-jalapeño syrup somehow did not make it on the trip with us. Oops! However, my substitute was very refreshing!!!

My cocktail was only made for Derek and I. The boys just had orange soda.
