The reason why we had a rare restaurant dinner visit was because we aimed to get to the local library by 5:50pm for a 6pm presentation by a researcher from the Naval Observatory on Celestial Navigation. Unfortunately the speaker was a no-show. Boo!!!!! Bad form to not show and then call to cancel at 6:05pm!!!
Celestial Navigation…hmmm…Perhaps the speaker got lost???? (Sorry bad joke!)
We felt bad for the library staff who had set up for the event. There were 15-20 people in attendance too! Hopefully the talk will be rescheduled.
Not about to have a ruined evening, we headed up to Lowell Observatory and got our science/space fix listening to a talk about possible life on Mars and then observing our beautiful Moon through the Clark Telescope.
Open Clark Telescope dome with beautiful whispy clouds.
Derek views the moon through the telescope.
Funny Tommi-The Celestial Navigation speaker got lost. Dixie
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer about the speaker! Glad you still got in some good science :)
