June 3: College Fjord Scenic Cruising

After a day of sailing across the Gulf of Alaska, we entered College Fjord around 6pm. The fjord contains five tidewater glaciers (glaciers that terminate in water), five large valley glaciers, and dozens of smaller glaciers, most named after renowned East Coast colleges.
Above from left to right you can see the faces of the Bryn Maer, Smith, Harvard, and Yale glaciers.

The Harvard Glacier. The face of this glacier is over a mile and a half wide.

A look back towards the front of the Fjord.

Cribbage and mochas while watching for orcas and dolphins!

We are now heading to our final destination of the water cruise portion of our trip, Whittier, Alaska.

    1. The Key West Cooler has been our favorite-no alcohol at all. Lots of fruit juices. Yum!
