We took her up to the Lowell Observatory overlook for a great view of Flagstaff.

We drove down to the Oak Creek Canyon overlook. (As you can see, it has gotten cloudy and we have received some much-needed rain here!)

Jes brought us some very tasty red wine from her wine-tasting experience in Sedona.

We followed up that bottle with great chemistry of course!!!

Jes had never visited the Grand Canyon. So we helped her check that off of her bucket list!!!

A beautiful view of the rim-to-rim hiking route that I took last September with clouds building and rain on the north rim.

Derek on edge. Haha!

As we walked along the rim trail on the south rim, it started to cloud up with threat of rain. So we decided to head to the east side of the park for a picnic lunch and possibly beat the rain. We had an excellent view of an elk right by the side of the road.

Well the rain caught up with us and the temperature dropped from 78 degrees to 52. We drive further east to the Desert Watchtower where the weather gave us a short reprieve so that we could eat a bit of lunch and grab some more amazing sights before heading home. It rained for much of the drive home. Yay! Monsoons!!

Yesterday we enjoyed baking homemade pizza and took a short hike into the woods behind our house. The prickly pear are now in bloom.

Jessica left to drive back to Phoenix late this morning. We hope to catch up with her again soon!!!!
