Feeling Fluky in Juneau

This afternoon we went on a whale-watching excursion. We saw no less than 6 humpback whales! One even broke the water mouth open twice!!! (Sorry didn’t get a picture if that- but it was amazing!). I did get pics of whale flukes! We also saw sea lions, harbor seals, and many bald eagles. 

These 4 dudes (sea lion males) somehow hauled themselves up onto this buoy. There was a group of females in the water nearby. Every time a female would get too close, the males would start a ruckus unwilling to give up their coveted spots! It was pretty funny!

Ashton Miller- Whale-watching cassenova! He made a friend on the tour today. They were going to meet up this evening in the teen lounge. Cute! 



Last night we did laundry. Luckily, between loads we were able to entertain ourselves viewing the sights and wildlife as we left Ketchikan on our way to Juneau. Derek and I saw humpbacks, dolphins, porpoises, a possible orca, and many sea otters! Unfortunately fog set in so we did not see the meteor shower predicted for last night.
