Today is brought to you by the letter “C”!

First there was “Coffee ‘n Cake”! 

I made my Mom’s old dessert recipe made from a yellow cake mix, strong coffee, and a sprinkle of whiskey with whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings on top. Yum! It brought back comforting childhood memories. 

Then there was a “Cookout”! 

We enjoyed the cake after grilling bratwurst for dinner with Grandma Dixie and Grandpa Cliff this afternoon. 

Then we drive to the highway school to enjoy a Drum “Corps” practice. 

We started to watch the Drum Corp International Division II Champion “Corp Gold” from San Diego at 5pm. They were using the Flag High football field to practice their marching routine during their travels around the country. View of their practice was free to the public. Unfortunately, it started to thunder and lightening within 10 minutes of our arrival so they took their practice indoors. Oh well! We did get to see a rainbow and pretty “Cloud” formations before concluding that their outdoor practice was “Cancelled”.
