Congratulations Zach!

First of all, congratulations to Zach on being invited to join the Flagstaff High School National Honors Society. What a fantastic honor! We are so proud of you and your academic achievements! 

Second, congratulations to the Flag HS men’s tennis team (number 8 seed) for their first round state division II tournament win this afternoon against Thunderbird HS. Zach did not play today as the team won 5 singles matches which gave them the overall win and halted play of the remaining singles match and doubles matches. (Winning team must win majority of 6 singles and 3 doubles matches). The Eagles will compete next Wednesday in the team quarterfinals against number one seed, Gilbert North HS, in Phoenix. Good luck Eagles! 

Zach will also accompany his Flagstaff varsity teammates to Phoenix this coming Friday as an alternate for the high school individual singles and doubles state tournament. So if one of his teammates cannot play, then Zach will sub in- otherwise he will be team cheerleader!!!! Depending on the match outcomes, there may also be play this Saturday in Phoenix. The Flag team has two singles players and two doubles teams in the tournament brackets.  Zach, we are so proud of you and your teammates for representing Flagstaff HS at the state championships! 

In other news, Chef Ashton made homemade Buffalo wing sauce to enjoy with chicken tenders tonight for dinner with Derek and I. (Zach was out eating pizza with his teammates celebrating today’s win!).
