Celebraciones de la Gente, A Day of the Dead Festival

Today we went to the Museum of Northern Arizona to attend their annual Day of the Dead celebration. We enjoyed the bright colors and fakest I’ve decor as well as watching traditional dancing and musical performances. We joyously celebrated the memories of Uncle Greg, Aunt Lillian and other friends and family members who are no longer with us physically but live on in our hearts and memories.

Ashton has his face painted in traditional sugar skull fashion.

We enjoyed the local Mariachi Marisol.

Mariachi Sol Azteca is from Tucson and was outstanding!!! They have been invited to play this coming January in Carnegie Hall! We especially enjoyed their unique instrumentation with a harp. The music and voices were great!!!

I asked the boys “to look serious” as we waited for the concert to begin. They crack me up!

  1. Greg, Aunt Lillian, so many others gone, but not forgotten.
