Today was lots of fun! First- we all actually got to sleep in until 7am! Yay!!! I drove Zach to the high school for his 9am string clinic. Orchestra professionals from NAU spent time with each of the Flag HS orchestra sections for two hours after school on Friday and two hours today to help the kids with music and skills in preparation for their upcoming homecoming and fall concert performances. At 11am Derek, Ash , and I picked up Z and we went for a rare family restaurant lunch at HuHot Mongolian Grill (we had a coupon! Yay!). So many yummy combinations of meat, veggies, noodles, and sauce to choose from!!!! After lunch, we dropped Zach off at NAU for afternoon tennis and headed downtown to participate in Flagstaff’s The Big Sing! This audience participation event included performances by choirs from NAU, Flagstaff High school and the Flagstaff Chorale Society, and others for an hour. The choirs sang both iartiotic and contemporary favorites like America the Beautiful, Footloose, and Get Your Kicks on Route 66. So much fun!! Before the performance began Ashton had fun meeting and holding parrots who were visiting the square with their rescue group. They especially liked his hat!
