Derek and I found a walking stick in our dry rain-catcher pot today! Cool!
This evening we attended the PTO back-to-school picnic at Ash’s school. Families were invited to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the school grounds. We brought Italian sandwiches, fruit, and chips. It was fun to see what other smilies brought to eat. The kids had s great time running around and pjsying together. We also met the couple who sponsors and runs the De Miguel elementary chess club! They gave Zach some tips on where to meet up with and play with older kids. We will learn more about Flagstaff chess opportunities and Ashton’s school club at the school open house on September 5th!

It is bulk trash time of the month again in our neighborhood. Tonight while walking Snyx, Derek and I found a perfectly good adult-sized scooter set out with other bulk trash. So it came home with us! Derek of course tested it out around the neighborhood during the rest of our walk!
