I took a nice 14 mile bike ride along Lake Mary Road, stopping to turn around at the picnic area just short of the lake. The lake itself is 10 miles long with great views from the bike route (we drove it last Wednesday at sunset- just beautiful!!!). I will be slowly working my way up to greater distances on the bike so that I can enjoy the lake views by bike. Despite being a busy road, there were many cyclists out enjoying the route with nice wide bike lanes so one never felt in danger due to the cars. The views of the woods and mountains were great! Can’t wait to go farther next time to see the lake.
Derek went on a short mountain bike ride in the woods behind our house. He is trying to find the least rocky route!
Yesterday Ashton road his bike to the park and discovered kids with a lemonade stand. He spent time chit-chatting and making friends. That’s our Ash!
Zach had a good time yesterday morning with Grandpa Cliff playing some tennis and then going out for cinnamon rolls. They plan to meet again tomorrow morning. Zach will play in a tennis tournament at NAU this Friday (he is now an official US Tennis Association member!), so this should be helping him get acclimated to playing at altitude. We hope to get him into some lessons/team play at NAU starting next week as well. Stay tuned!
Glad you are adjusting to Flagstaff's altitude.
