Tennis Season is Officially Open!

Derek and I went to Ponca City to watch Zach and his teammates play in the Ponca Tournanemt. Zach played varsity 1S singles today, winning two out of four of his matches.  For his first match he was not warmed up and choked. Second match was awesome- well matched to his opponent- their match took over an hour!!! Both kids were both pooped afterwards.  In the afternoon, he got schooled in his third match. Kid from Metro was really good- Z played well despite losing. He did really well for his last match. And wow- the singles matches take so much longer than the doubles!!!! It is so much fun to see how much he continues to improve and get more powerful in his serve and swing! Can’t wait for his next tournament on Thursday!

In between matches, Derek and I escaped for lunch at Enrique’s Mexican restaurant at the PONCA Airport. Love the spicy pollo loco soup and of course their unique chips and salsa!
