Exploring Cultural Cuisine

Zach and his friend Thomas, who lives around the corner from us, have been working on a cuisine project together for Spanish class. They are making Guatemalan vegetarian empanadas. Yesterday they got together to find a recipe and buy ingredients. Tonight they are making the treats. Tomorrow they will get together to make a slideshow about their project. Wednesday they make their presentation to the class. Each student pair will present their food from their assigned country to the class either on Wednesday or Thursday. What a fun way to make new friends, learn new skills, and learn about another culture! 

Meanwhile, Derek made new batches of hot sauce (both red and green) as well as spicy mustard. Yum! He, Ash, and I had sliders with onions and salad for dinner. 

Update! Just tried a finished empanada with Derek’s jalapeño hot sauce. Soooooo good!!!!
