Robbers Cave State Park

This morning we got up early and drove 2.5 hrs south to Robbers Cave State Park near Wilburton, OK. The park is in the Sans Bois/ Ouachita Mountains and is famous as a hideout for Outlaw Jesse James and gang. We had a great time climbing the rock  formations, picnicking, and hiking for over 7miles! We had a great look at a red shouldered hawk and heard its unique in-flight call. We also saw a blotched water snake hunting for frogs and tadpoles in Lake Wayne Wallace.

Lunch time!!!!

All sorts of little creeks and ponds on the trail.
