Firecracker Cake = Two Thumbs Up!

Fabulous midday meal of steak kabobs with Mom's beer marinade, corn on the cob (thanks for the microwave tips Dixie!), and oriental slaw. The meal was followed by Firecracker Cake. Total yum and two thumbs up from the boys! (I love having the time to try new recipes.)

All plates were cleaned with the exception of rejection of the salad. So considered a win-at least they all tried it. 

Cake turned out so pretty and tasty too! Now that we own a bunt pan, Derek is planning all sorts of future baking adventures. 

Meanwhile dog with bandana rolled in something ultra-stinky outside. Dog is now "naked" and clean. Patriotic in the buff?  Bandana and collar have been thrown in the laundry.
