Chess Tournament

Zach participated in the annual school district chess tournament today. They played Swiss Tournament rules with four games each. Zach had an ultimate score of 2 points with 1 win, 2 draws, and one loss. We are super proud if him for participating today! 

There were two matches before lunch and two after. Zach's friend Oliver participated as well. So Ash kept busy with Oliver's younger brother, Isaac, and Derek and I had a nice time visiting with Oliver's parents, Rachel and Terrance. Our families both brought picnic lunches for the lunch break, and the Blanchard's were kind enough to make a coffee run to fuel the second half of the day. 
We are now home and enjoying some time outside in the 55 degree weather. Going to Frank and Lolas for dinner!

    Congratulations Zach, grandpa and I are very proud of you. We are glad that Ash, Mom and Dad had a good time too. Wow, 55 degrees! We thought it was wonderful just getting up into the 30s. 😯
