Not a creature was stirring, (that is a complete lie- Derek and I just had a "bonding experience" putting together the boys' air hockey table sent by Uncle Greg, Aunt Jenny, and Wyn!!!),
Not even the mouse. (or Snickers - she is snoozing, rather snoring, on the couch)
The stockings were hung,
By the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas,(We had to explain to Ash that St.Nick and Santa were the same. He did not at first believe us and got quite upset!)
Soon would be there. (Luckily Mom and Dad have got St, Nick's back since his reindeer have it cut out for themselves having to travel at the speed of light to deliver all of those gifts on time! Along with Grandpa Gary and Lori whose packages arrive today and were placed carefully under the tree!)
The children were nestled,
All snug in their beds,(also snoring)
While visions of sugarplums (actually in this case, Beyblades),
Danced in their heads.
And Ma in her 'kerchief (also a lie, I am sitting in my "comfy clothes" and fuzzy sandals)
and I in my cap (NOT- Derek is currently sucked into some game of world domination on the computer)
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap. (well, we better get to it, since the kids will be up at the crack of dawn!!!)
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
Cute.....finish the poem next year!
