Long Weekend Wanderings

Both we and the kids were excited for the long Labor Day weekend to come.  Ash has been having a hard time adjusting to school (we have been working with him on behavior).  Zach has been having soccer practices in the sweltering heat.  Work has just been... well... blah.  So we were ready for a break.

Actually I started the weekend off early by taking a "mental health" vacation day from work on Friday.  I went and got the oil changed on my car and spent the rest of the day relaxing and reading in a totally quiet and empty house- only venturing our one other time to meet Derek for lunch at Frank and Lolas and stop at Walmart to pick up a family picture for a family art project for Ashton's class.

Yesterday we ventured out to try the new Freddy's restaurant that just opened Friday night.  The place serves classic burgers and hotdogs along with ice cream and shakes.  Nothing can make us happy like sugar and fat!!!! Yum!

 Ashton also had a hot dog while Zach and Derek each had cheeseburgers.  The fries were totally awesome!

Today we drove down to Tulsa to spend some time at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and eat dinner at Chuy's as they were having their annual New Mexico Hatch Green chile festival.  (again yum!)  The kids had a blast at the museum and playing on the new playground.  We got a sneak peak of the new MD-80 exhibit which will be opening soon.  The only downer was when I had to take Ash out of the planetarium show to throw up (motion sickness- joy!).  But he made it to the bathroom.  Yay!!

Tonight Derek and I enjoyed the latest episode of Breaking Bad on TV.  The show is coming to a close.  Sorry to see it ending, but can't wait to see how they end it!!!!
