The Lion King, The Musical

Today was a Family Day down in Tulsa.  We drove down and lunched at Freebirds.  (Eating at Chuy's and Freebirds within 24 hours = HEAVEN!!!!!)  Then we headed downtown to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center to see Disney's The Lion King Broadway Musical.  Wow!!! OUTSTANDING!  The visuals were amazing!  Most of the African animals were represented by puppets manipulated by the actors.  Very cool! Lots of hard work having to dance, sing, act, AND manipulate the puppetry.  The giraffes were really cool as well as the cheetah.  However, the most outstanding was the elephant, which only appears in the opening sequence.  Luckily we got a close up as it walked right down the aisle next to us onto the stage.  Taking pictures was not allowed, but I found some on the web to give you an idea.

We enjoyed ourselves very much!  We had floor seats close to the stage - so great viewing of the puppets in action.  The music was great and the voices of the artists were fantastic.  The kids loved it too.

 With our "VIP" tickets we each received a nice zippered tote bag with the musical logo on it as well as a commemorative book of pictures from the musical (also kept the boys entertained as we waited for the performance to start).  We got there early, so the seats look empty.  However, it was a packed house by start time.
