Playing at High Altitude!

We spent our day today hooting around Ruidoso.  We woke up and ate cinnamon rolls while enjoying the sunrise on the mountain.  We enjoyed the herd of 16 deer that passed by our deck.  Turns out that there are ~100 that hang out in the neighborhood during the day, basking in the sun and enjoying the green grass that can be found.  The ravens were out and about with their strange throaty calls and their antics. They like to swoop and dive-bomb and complain loudly while doing it.  We also saw stellar's jays, a red-shafted flicker, and even a mountain bluebird!

After a "lazy" morning we headed to the park to play.  Then ate lunch at the Cornerstone Bakery and stocked up on  homemade treats.  (A chocolate-filled croissant awaits us for dessert this evening.) We then took a drive over to the tubing area to scope out activities for tomorrow, and drove up to the lookout point on the ski hill.  Afterwards, we came back to the house to relax some more before heading out to dinner.  Kids are currently in the shower.  My job tonight is to wrap Zach's birthday presents for our celebration tomorrow.

 Morning visitors!
The back of our house with all of it's decks...

So this is something I NEVER would have done as a kid!

Uh, is Mom stuck????
 Yay!  She survived!

Uh oh!  Too much spinning!
