Celebrity Neighbors????

So it has been confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch (along with George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Chris Cooper, Ewan McGregor and others) have been sighted in Bartlesville.  Apparently Benedict (aka the new Sherlock Holmes, next Star Trek Villan, voice of Smaug and the Necromancer in the upcoming Hobbit movies, and overall BBC star) was spotted in the local QuikTrip yesterday.  The store clerk said that he was super nice and was actually a bit on the shy side.  Hard to believe that such great actors are hanging about in OK (and Benedict is my current star crush of choice - yes Derek knows- he just rolls his eyes at me- ha!).  This weekend is a BIG weekend of activities in the Bartlesville area (Fly-in at the airport, Indian Summer Festival, Outboard Boat Races on Copan Lake, Tom Mix Festival and Wild West Show in Dewey).  Fingers crossed that celebrities may be board and will be out and about at some of these events as we will be trying to pack in as much as possible with the boys.  (not getting my hopes up too high though- ha!). 

Furthermore, I am fairly convinced that we have members of the cast/crew living in the house behind us.  The house had been for sale forever (actually it was our second choice when we were looking to buy) and suddenly went off the market a few weeks ago just after they announced that 30+ houses had been rented in the area for the movie cast\crew.  We then noticed that lights were on in the house at odd times - with people really only around after 8pm.  Last night the guys (at this point we have only seen and heard guys- maybe 2-3?) were out on the patio about 11:30pm playing guitar and talking.  (Dad, they really stink compared to you.  You need to come and teach these guys some chords!)  Lots of jovial cussing and it is totally obvious that they are not from around here.  No southern/western accents.  They were talking about how shocked they were about how dark it gets here at night and that driving on the country roads was disturbing without street lights.  According to one guys "Oklahoma roads are worse than those in Iowa with two lane highways and fields on either side..."  Ha- yes there I was eavesdropping at my bedroom window in the middle of the night!  But I think my theory is correct.  Stay tuned as I learn more!  The guys were out and about again tonight, but ironically Derek and I were in the middle of watching episode 1 of season 2 of Sherlock.  Wouldn't it be funny and cool if someone famous was living right behind us????  So far I have not heard any British accents over the fence, but one can only hope- ha!!!!
