Snickers is Home!!!

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts, notes, skypes, and prayers!  We brought Snickers back home this afternoon after an overnight stay at the vet.  The doctors were able to get the infection and fever under control.  She is very much back to her normal curious doggie self except for a very swollen back leg due to fluid build up from the infection.  The doctors are now leaning toward that she was bitten by some kind of insect over a snake, but cannot tell for sure exactly what it was.  We have oral antibiotics and antihistamines for her and instructions to keep her exercised.  Not a problem as she seems to prefer moving around to laying down and greeted us enthusiastically after we went to pick up Ash from daycare late this afternoon.  So, she is expected to make a full recovery.  We just need to monitor the swelling and her mood.

Mike, Tracy, and Reese were kind enough to stop by this afternoon to check on Snyx while they were out on a family walk in the 100 degree heat (yes- they are nuts!).  They invited us over for dinner and a dip in the pool!  We will head out in a few minutes.

In other news, Derek and I attended Zach's camp picnic this afternoon at Sooner Park.  He was super excited to have both of us attend.  Notice the big shiner under his right eye.  It is the result of a head collision at the pool yesterday.  Looks nasty but he feels fine.  (Never a dull moment!)
