Family Time!

After a busy week in Houston, the boys picked me up at the Bartlesville airport when the shuttle landed last night.  I had a nice flight  - getting to visit with Tracy as she was also in Houston for the second half of the week on business.  I am sure glad to be home again.

What a great Saturday so far!  After a nice breakfast together, we all got cleaned up and then headed into town.  We stopped first at Barb's Super Six so that all three of the boys could get haircuts.  This was Ashton's first time to the barber!

It only took 15 minutes for all of the boys to become handsome, and then we headed downtown to the Farmer's Market at Frank Phillips Park.  Along with the many vendors selling veggies, honey, jams, and other homemade goodies, one of the highlights was the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Locomotive No. 940 and Bartlesville Depot.  As Ashton exclaimed, "Wow!  A really big choo choo train!"  No kidding!

After exploring the train and market, and driving around town to see what new shops and restaurants had popped up during our time in Houston, we stopped at Derek's favorite restaurant, Frank and Lolas, for lunch.  Derek indulged in his favorite green chile cheeseburger, a burger smothered in fabulous pork green chile stew.  Both Zach and Ashton had their famous macaroni and cheese (it is delicious!!!  I had the Johnny burger - burger topped with jalapeno cream cheese.  Yummy!  (I swear - our happiness revolves around the 4 F's: Family, Friends, Food, and Fun!!!!)  We sat outside at a table in the shade enjoying the fabuous weather and nice breeze!

After lunch, we headed home to change (me), make a pit stop, pick up Snickers and a few odds and ends and headed to the Pathfinder trail where we took a 2 mile walk in the woods.  The kids really enjoyed spotting turtles from the bridge over the Caney River.

We are now home again, ready for some quiet time and a nice glass of ice water.  (Snickers is totally wracked out on the cool tile!)
