LEGOS FOR GIRLS!!!!!!

Derek is so sweet!  He bought me a belated anniversary gift.  LEGOs!!!!!  Lego now has a line especially geared towards GIRLS!  The set that he bought for me is "Olivia's Workshop" which includes (gasp) math equations, a microscope, (another gasp) TOOLS, and (Tommi's squeal of delight) beakers and flasks filled with brightly colored CHEMICALS!!!  So glad to see these nerdy sets from Lego geared toward encouraging girls to pursue fun careers in math and science.  Our only complaint (besides the obvious splattering with pastel colors), Olivia has obviously not been given proper laboratory safety training.  She lacks safety glasses and is wearing shorts and sandals.  Derek is trying to convince me to send in the picture to the American Chemical Society and pointing this flaw out along with applauding Lego for encouraging chemistry (with hopes of getting published in their trade magazine).  I thought I might email Lego itself or post on their Facebook page.  If they are going to do this, do it right with a lab coat, proper closed-toed shoes, and safety glasses! 

The boys even enjoyed the Girly Legos- both helping me put them together and were epecially impressed with the microscope and robot! 

Tomorrow is "Friday" for Derek and I who will be taking a much needed 19/30 day to run errands and hopefully catch a movie together.  I am not feeling very well this evening- just very tired and will probably hit the sack early after finishing my tea. 

Zach and Ash are both doing well.  Zach has gotten E's at school and Ash has continued to stay dry at school.  Spelling words this week are the following:

any, bank, blank, bring, enough, ever, every, own, pink, rang, rink, sang, sunk, sure, trunk, were, wing

Derek bought himself a game for Wii called "punch out".  It is great to see him exercising and beating the heck out of his virtual opponents!
