Rainy Day Escapades!

Started off the morning by making waffles.  Was on the last waffle when our waffle-maker kicked the bucket. (Massively stinky electrical smell.) It had a long, well-used run.  Those last waffles were still quite tasty.

It has been raining cats and dogs here in Houston.  So, we have been forced (darn) to pursue more relaxing, quiet pursuits such as reading, puzzles, candy-making, and art projects.  We made peanut brittle this afternoon (YUM! - the kids both rejected it so more for Derek and I.)

I helped Zach finish his nutcracker project.  He has been doing a great job as well practicing his oral book report to take place after Dec. 2.

The kids are currently running around the house making the dog go crazy with a flashlight and a whistle (so much for peace and quiet).
