Our "plan" yesterday morning was to eat pancakes, then take a bike ride over to the neighborhood pool for a morning swim. The kids were TOTALLY excited! Pancakes were a success. The bike ride- not so much. We got all the way over there and the sign said the pool was closed for emergency repairs. Zach was especially disappointed and complained during the entire mile bike ride home. Since it was still early (9:30am), we decided to take the boys to the zoo. We had a nice time, but boy it was HOT! We made it through about 1/3 of the zoo and traded our day passes in for a year family pass so that we can go back at later times this year to enjoy what we missed. The zoo is on a great park complex downtown that will be fun to revisit with a picnic lunch (on a cooler day...). Afterwards we had a cool-down early dinner at Chuy's (TOTAL YUM) and then a worked on a presentation for the rest of the afternoon while the boys watched a movie. I just found out tonight that the presentation (to have occurred Wednesday) has to be rescheduled (likely till July or August) due to a conflict with the Senior Vice President's schedule. (Why am I not surprised???)
Enjoy scenes from the zoo!
Zach and Ash crawling through a fish tank tunnel. (Yes, Zach blocked traffic because he had to tie his shoe and Ash insisted on wearing his yellow sunglasses...)
Yo! Whassup!!!!

My favorite, the Leaf-tailed Gecko
That looks like an awesome zoo! I'm glad you guys went, even though it was so hot. I love the pictures of the boys going through the fish tunnel...very cute :) Tommi...give yourself a break this week, even if just for ten minutes. Enjoy a chai latte (or something cold) and just smile :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get some "cool" days!
