Finally, moments to relax!

It has been a good Friday.  The morning was a bit crazy.  However, Derek and I were dismissed from work at noon on account of the chiller went out at work, shutting down all of the building air conditioners on the R&D campus on the north side of the complex,  As it  has been over 100 degrees every day for the past week or so, the building was heating up fast.  So they decided to let everyone go home until the problem is fixed.  So, Derek and I had a nice, relaxing afternoon (I read and played Plants vs. Zombies) before picking up the boys after school let out.  Zach had had a great week.  We have had no problem getting him up in the morning.  He has been so excited to go to school.  He gives us a minute-by-minute account all the way home from school as well as during dinner.  He has been thrilled to be reading and doing art projects centered around Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, one of his favorite books. He was very proud of a book he had made in class this week based on the books theme and including letter tracing.  Yesterday he had his first music class and was thrilled to have been able to play a blue tambourine.  He even demonstrated proper technique for us!  So far we have gotten great reports about his behavior.  The before and after school care coordinator said it is like he is a different child- so content and happy.  I guess the added structure as well as the thrill of learning new things has helped.   (Ahhh to be 5 years old again!!!)

The boys have been really enjoying the lullaby CDs that they received in the mail from Grandpa Randy containing original guitar compositions.  They are absolutely beautiful (I made my own copy to listen to on my mp3 player and our house sound system too)!  I am hoping to find a way to share my favorite track with everyone through the blog.  Such a neat gift!!!  Zach was so cute.  He willingly gave up his Star Wars music CD saying that Grandpa's Guitar music was for "big boys" and put it right into his music player.  He also voluntarily goes for "quiet time" in his room to play with toys and listen to the music.

In news of the weird... movie stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been spotted in Bartlesville as they are shooting a movie here in BVille through the fall and are living south of town.  Friends have caught them on camera in local eateries and in Wal-Mart.  Small World!  No idea what the movie is about- will keep y'all posted as I find out details.

Not much else to report.  Just sitting here updating the blog, listening to Dad's guitar jam session music and updating the blog.  More soon!

And Mom and Dad- in answer to your question (they are currently in Washington State on vacation---i'm jealous), that is likely our refinery.  It is located in Ferndale, WA.  Derek says there is one other- probably BP's refinery, nearby as well.
