Zach lost his first baby tooth today! It came out while he was swimming at the pool, so he lost the tooth. Even so, the Tooth Fairy still plans on visiting tonight. (She plans on giving him a much-needed new toothbrush!)
We lost (actually donated) our living room couches to charity as well as the "evil" sleeper sofa that lived in our basement. We moved the comfy futon into the living room with the big brown chair as well as the kids play table. I will move our nice wooden rocking chair in as well. It has opened up a lot of play space in our great room, but retains all of the seating capacity we had before (since the futon seats 4 comfortably!).
I was close to loosing my mind with all of the craziness at work lately. But Tracy helped me retain my sanity by treating me to a spa treatment and pedicure this evening. What a great, and much needed, B-day present. So nice to have some "girl time" with no worries, responsibilities, or infliction of self-torture (e.g. running). Thanks Tracy!!!!!!
(I chose a more neutral color this time as Derek claimed the blue made my feet look like that of a "dead person".)
Ash has found his "terrible twos" early. He likes to throw himself on the floor when he doesn't get what he wants and yell, cry and carry-on. I think mostly is frustrated that he can't communicate like he wants to. Hopefully since the Terribles came early, they will leave early!!! However, he still does have his cute moments. Here are some pics from the weekend of the boys playing "space" together.
We found out that Zach will have Ms. Johnson as his teacher at Wayside Elementary school this year for Kindergarten. She is an experienced teacher and comes highly recommended. We will get to meet her next Tuesday at 1pm for an individual parent/student/teacher conference. In the note from the school informing us of the conference date, Mrs. Johnson sent a card to Zach including her picture so he would know what she looks like and saying she is very excited to meet him and have him in her class. Such a neat idea- Zach was thrilled to get the card! He has been carrying the picture around with him and showing it to anyone who will pay attention. He is very excited about starting Kindergarten and having Mrs. Johnson as his teacher.

What are teeth worth these days?
ReplyDeleteI am delighted the evil sleeper sofa is gone. Now Derek can no longer use it as a threat against me!
ReplyDeleteWat too much! Derek said there was a post on the web that said $5 a tooth in texas! Zach has no concept of money, so he received a toothbrush---which should be worth its weight in gold in terms of dentist bills in the future :)
