Trip to Caney, KS Safari Zoological Park

Today we went with a group of friends from work and their families to the Safari Zoological Park in Caney, KS. http://www.safaripark.org/ The park specializes in rescue and rehabilitation of endangered species. You may have read about this park before in the news as it made headlines a year ago when the owner's golden retriever adopted a litter of white tiger cubs that were abandoned by its mother. http://abcnews.go.com/WaterCooler/wireStory?id=5486043 They have all sort of animals ranging from small (lemurs, koati mundis, and foxes) to large (baboons, tigers, lions, wolves and grizzly bears). In the park you are lead via the owner on a tour where you learn about how the animals came in to their care and interesting facts about them Zach's favorite was the alligator! I enjoyed the koati mundis (who knew that they can actually climb up their cage????). We had nice 80 degree weather, so it was a very enjoyable day!
